GTA VI: the gameplay leak that changes everything — over 700 explorable locations in Leonida

A massive gameplay leak shook the GTA VI community this weekend. More than 700 distinct locations have been counted on the Leonida map, confirming what many hoped: the GTA VI map will be historic.

It is one of the most spectacular leaks in gaming history: unreleased GTA VI gameplay footage surfaced on social media in late April 2026, revealing a map of unprecedented density. Dataminers and community members counted no fewer than 700 distinct, explorable locations across the fictional State of Leonida.

A map that redefines the standards

For scale: the GTA V map had roughly 250 notable points of interest. Leonida would therefore offer nearly three times as many, spread between Vice City, the Grassrivers everglades, Port Gellhorn and the Leonida Keys. The footage shows a seamless transition between dense urban areas and wild countryside, with attention to detail beyond anything Rockstar has produced so far.

Vice City, the beating heart of the map

The metropolis of Vice City looks especially polished. Its districts — from the Art Deco waterfront to the residential suburbs and the industrial port — each seem to have their own visual and sonic identity. Lighting, crowd animations and traffic reach a striking level of realism.

Release confirmed for November 2026

While these leaks annoy Rockstar on the legal front, they have at least reassured fans: GTA VI is well and truly finished and ready for its official release on November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
